Welcome to Solver AI: Homework Helper ("Solver AI", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.
1. Information We Collect
No account, no login. The App does not ask for or collect your name, email address or phone number.
1.1 Information You Provide
The items below are sent only when you use an AI feature, and only after you give permission (see 1.2).
Camera and Photo Library Access
What we collect: Images and photos you capture using your device camera or select from your photo library
Why we need it: To scan and analyze math problems, equations, homework questions, and educational content for solving
How it's used: Images are sent through AIProxy to the Google Gemini API to create step-by-step solutions and explanations
Storage: We do not keep your images. Google processes them to create the answer and may keep request data for a limited time under its API terms (for example, to detect abuse).
Microphone Access
What we use: Your voice when you use the voice input feature
Why we need it: To turn your spoken question into text
How it's used: Apple's Speech framework converts your voice to text, and the App forces this to run on your iPhone. The text is then sent like a typed question.
Storage: The audio recording never leaves your device. Only the resulting text is sent.
Document Access
What we collect: PDF files and documents you upload for the "Ask Document" feature
Why we need it: To analyze document content and answer your questions about them
How it's used: Documents are uploaded through AIProxy to the Google Gemini API to create summaries and answers
Storage: Uploaded files are stored by Google's file service for up to 48 hours, then deleted automatically. We do not keep a copy.
Audio Files
What we collect: Audio files you choose to summarize
Why we need it: To create a summary of the recording
How it's used: The file is uploaded through AIProxy to the Google Gemini API

Text Input
What we collect: Questions, prompts, and text you type into the App
Why we need it: To understand your educational queries and provide relevant answers
How it's used: Text is sent through AIProxy to the Google Gemini API to create the answer
Storage: We do not keep your questions. Google processes them to create the answer and may keep request data for a limited time under its API terms (for example, to detect abuse).
Reported Answers
What we collect: Each AI answer has a "Report answer" button. It opens an email to [email protected] containing the question and the answer. Nothing is sent unless you send the email.
Why we need it: To review and improve answer safety
How it's used: Reports are used only to review and improve answer safety
Storage: Reports are kept in our support inbox until they are handled
1.2 Your Permission Comes First
"Share with AI?"
Before your first AI request, the App asks "Share with AI?" and names Google Gemini as the service that creates the answers
Nothing is sent unless you tap Allow
You can withdraw consent at any time in the App: Settings > Privacy > "Share with AI" (turn it off)
After that, nothing is sent, and the App asks again the next time you use an AI feature
1.3 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored ONLY on your device using Apple's secure local storage (SwiftData):
Learning History: Records of solved problems, AI tutor conversations, and tool results
Bookmarks: Items you choose to bookmark for quick access
Flashcards: Study sets, questions, and answers you create or generate
Preferences: App settings, selected themes, and user preferences
Important: This locally stored data is NOT sent to us. It stays on your iPhone and is deleted when you clear it in the App or uninstall the App. It may be included in your own iCloud device backup.
1.4 Information Collected Automatically
No Analytics
The App has no analytics or crash-reporting tools
We do not track the features you use or how long you use the App
Crash Reports from Apple
If you have turned on sharing analytics with app developers in your iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports with us
This helps us fix bugs
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide AI-powered educational assistance and homework help
Process and solve math problems, equations, and academic questions
Generate flashcards, study materials, and practice quizzes
Translate text and check grammar
Summarize documents and audio content
Manage your subscription
Review reported answers to improve answer safety
Provide customer support
We do not use your data to train any AI model.
3. Third-Party Services
We share data only with the services below, and only to run the App.
3.1 AIProxy
AI requests go through AIProxy (aiproxy.com), a service that securely forwards them to the Google Gemini API:
It protects our API key
It uses Apple's DeviceCheck to confirm that requests come from the real App
Google Gemini API (Google LLC) creates the answers. When you use an AI feature:
Your text, images, documents or audio files are sent to Google to create the answer
Uploaded files (PDFs, audio) are stored by Google's file service for up to 48 hours, then deleted automatically
Other requests are processed to create the answer
Google may keep request data for a limited time under its API terms (for example, to detect abuse). See the Gemini API Terms and Google's Privacy Policy
App Store and Subscriptions: Apple processes all payments. We never see your card details.
Speech Recognition: Voice-to-text uses Apple's Speech framework, which runs on your iPhone. The audio never leaves your device.
iCloud: If you enable iCloud backup, your local App data may be included in your device backup
3.5 Removed Video Summary Tool
Versions 1.0.1 and earlier included a video summary tool. When used, the video link and its transcript were sent to our AI provider to create the summary. This tool was removed in version 1.0.2.

5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
Local data is stored using Apple's secure SwiftData framework
AI requests go through AIProxy, which protects our API key and uses Apple's DeviceCheck to block fake requests
We do not store your questions, images, documents or audio on our own servers
6. Children's Privacy
Solver AI is rated 13+ and is intended for students aged 13 and up. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected], and we will delete such information.
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Access and Control
There is no account, so most of your data lives only on your iPhone. You have the right to:
Access: View all data stored locally in the App
Delete: Clear your history, bookmarks, and flashcards at any time
Withdraw AI consent: Turn off Settings > Privacy > "Share with AI" in the App. Nothing is sent after that.
Opt-out: Deny camera, microphone, or photo library permissions in your device Settings
Uninstall: Remove the App and all locally stored data
Request deletion: For anything you sent us (such as report emails), email [email protected] and we will delete it
7.2 Managing Permissions
You can manage App permissions at any time:
Go to your device Settings
Select Solver AI
Toggle permissions for Camera, Microphone, Photos, etc.
7.3 California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights:
Right to know what personal information is collected
Right to delete personal information
Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (we do NOT sell your data)
Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights
7.4 European Users (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR including:

8. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal data.
No ads and no tracking
We do not sell or share your data for advertising
Data is shared only with the services in Section 3 (AIProxy, Google Gemini API, RevenueCat and Apple), and only to run the App
We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our rights.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your residence (including the United States, where our service providers operate). By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App
Updating the "Last Updated" date
Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Subscription Information
Subscription payments are processed by Apple
We never see your payment card details
RevenueCat manages subscription status using an anonymous app user ID (no name or email)
Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID account
